1922-1935 Peace Silver Dollar (Almost Uncirculated)

1922-1935 Peace Silver Dollar (Almost Uncirculated)

In commemoration of the end of World War I, a new silver piece was struck in honor of peace following the Great War: the Peace Dollar. This coin would be the last silver dollar ever minted by the United States government for general circulation, thus replacing the Morgan Dollar in 1921. These dollars were minted from 1921-1935 with a 5 year hiatus from 1928-1934.Anthony de Francisci was hired to produce the design; on the obverse, Lady’s Liberty’s portrait is based on his wife Teresa. These coins are in in Almost Uncirculated (AU) grade. Orders come in multiples of 20, packaged in plastic tubes known as rolls

1922-1935 Peace Silver Dollar (Almost Uncirculated)

1922-1935 Peace Silver Dollar (Almost Uncirculated)

The $5 Indian head gold coin was first issued as a part of President Theodore Roosevelt’s plan to diversify and invigorate the American monetary system. Minted from 1908-1933, the coin was designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, along with the $2.5 quarter eagle gold piece. The design of the half eagle had the same unique design as the quarter eagle Indian head with a unique incuse design rather than in raised relief. The $2.5 and $5 gold pieces are the only coins ever struck with an incuse design. These pieces are well sought after, and are tough to find even for the most avid collector. These pieces come in VF-XF (very fine to extra fine) condition

1873-1885 Trade Dollar (VF - XF)

1873-1885 Trade Dollar (VF - XF)

In response to popular silver coinage in Asia, the silver Trade Dollar was introduced in 1873. On the obverse, Liberty is seated facing the left, to the Far East. In her left hand, she holds a ribbon with “Liberty” inscribed on it; in her right hand, she holds an olive branch symbolizing peace. A perched eagle with its wings raised high is depicted on the reverse. A cluster of arrows and an olive branch, symbolic of war and peace, are clutched in the talons of the eagle. All reserves of the Trade Dollar were redeemed by the U.S. Government in 1887. Dates will vary at the discretion of Legacy Coins and Capital
